Cameron Parish is located in the southwest corner of Louisiana. It is the largest parish in the state covering 1,932 sq. miles. This includes 619 sq. miles of water and 1,313 sq. miles of land mass. We are complimented by the bountiful natural resources, including the oil and gas industry, and the hunting and fishing industry. We have many birds and waterfowl, along with deer, alligator, fresh and saltwater fishing.

Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office is the only local law enforcement entity in the parish. We do, however, work closely with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries with violations on the water.

Cameron Parish Festivals includes The Cameron Parish Fishing Fest, The Fur and Wildlife Fest, The Marshland Fest, The Alligator Fest, and The Hackberry High School Duck-Off.

Cameron Parish is a beautiful area with plush marshes for wildlife to abound in. We were hit by Hurricane Rita in 2005 and Ike in 2008. Despite the damages, we are rebuilding and rebounding.
